2006 Chevy wheels fit on my '99 dodge?
Anyone have a break down of what fits what? Im looking for a deal on used wheels and am curious what will fit my 99 dodge 2500.
Thanks |
I know the 99 and up Ford eight lugs will not.
I also think I read on here that Chevy changed the lug pattern for the Silverado HD's also. You may need to stick with Dodge offerings. I got 17" wheels off an 04 for $50 each and they were like brand new. |
Stock for stock, GM/Chevy wheel center holes are too small to fit over the dodge/ford hubs.
Bolt pattern is the same, and you can use dodge, and old ford wheels on a chevy, but not the other way around. Ford has also gone away from the 8 x 6.5 / 165mm pattern, to an 8 x 170mm pattern, just to confuse the issue further. I do believe that the new pattern came out on the early super-duty trucks in 99. Ford also has an 8 x 200 pattern, but that one is easy to spot. Good luck with finding wheels |
so what about aftermarket wheels though? They still have the wrong centers for us if they are bought for a GM?

"most" aftermarket wheels are androgynous.
The only ones I have run into that give trouble, are the Core Racing "Ambush" series, where you need special center cap extenders to clear the rear hubs on the dodge and ford. In an aftermarket wheel, look for a 130mm or larger center hole in lug-centric wheels, and you'll be fine. For dually wheels, they can be a little more OEM specific, but once again, check the center bores. |
