02 3500 W/heated Stock Mirrors To Larger Mirrors?

I have an 02 3500 dually with heated mirrors. The problem I have is that the mirrors are too small for snow plowing, etc.

How can I retain the heated mirror equipment my truck already has but install a larger set of mirrors?

Thanks in advance!

Joe

I am pretty sure on the 02 they made heated tow mirrors. Look around junk yards or ebay. www.car-parts.com will give info of them close to you in junk yards.

Thanks Josh!

I wonder if both types of mirrors will use the same wiring, arm mounted to door etc.?

Has anyone done this or seen it done before? I would really like to stick with original manufacturer equipment if possible.

Thank you - Joe

They didnt make heated tow mirrors untill the third gens.

You can still do it. I f you buy a set of second gen tow mirrors(manual) and a set of third gen heated tow mirrors that fit 03-05 becouse they have changed the arm since then (probly find used ones at a wreckers).

Then you use the arms and mirror heads of the third gen mirrors and the base that mounts to the door from the second gen mirrors.

There are aftermarket mirrors available as well. Search for "CIPA".

This might help?
I think they look sharp but have read some people have vibration problems...

All the pics I have seen do really not show a side or front view to see how the truck looks.

Any one information on the vibration problems?

Not a hard swap but a costly swap. I go back and forth on the fact I use my defrost once or twice a year. However the power adjust would be missed. Thinking about it more the wife only drives the truck once or twice a year so no power might be an option while saving for the 3rd gen set...

I have a set of CIPAs and have no vibrations at all. The power feature is reall handy for backing up, I have to do a 90* turn to get my trailer into my driveway and often have a topper on my truck. I can power out the passenger mirror to see much lawn I'm running over. [roll]

My only complaint is that the defrost on the passenger side quit working. But even up here in Canada I rarely use it. Usually after coming out of the car wash.

I've got the Cipa power/heated tow mirrors and really like them. At first I thought they made my truck look funny but I've got used to them and wouldn't have any others now. I run a 265/75 tire and I think that a larger size would equal out the big ear look of the mirrors. Like I said, I'm completely satisfied and they don't vibrate at all and you can see very well with them.

I just found a compay on the net called kool vue. They are selling 2nd gen power heated tow mirrors. They arn't mopar but they look the same and they have the plug on the wire and everything. Looks alot cheaper then getting two sets and doing the swap. To bad I allready bought two sets to swap. I wonder if the quality is as good as stock they look good to me though. Just though I'd share that.
