“The search for WeatherTech DigitalFit mats” or “Which vehicles share floor pans?”

Greetings everyone,

Alright so, we are probably all aware the WeatherTech doesn’t list a DigitalFit mat set for our 94-98/98-02 2500/3500 trucks, and that is a crying shame as I love those mats, but I had a thought...

What if WeatherTech makes these mats for a different model/vehicle, that shares the same/similar floor pans as these trucks?

Example: I have a VW Jetta, built on the A4/MKIV platform which was made from 99-05 and WeatherTech does not make DigitalFit mats for these cars either, you just cannot get them.

But, here’s the sneaky part, they do make DigitalFit mats for the New Beetle of the same A4/MKIV generation (98-06 for these), which happens to have the exact same floor as the Jetta and Golf.

So, you can buy the New Beetle mats for the Jetta or Golf and they fit perfectly. (And WeatherTech refuses to acknowledge this compatibility for some reason.)

And so, I am wondering if maybe the same thing could be the case for the 2nd Gen Ram pickups, is there another Chrysler product that shares this same floor pan layout? The B2500/3500 vans maybe?
I haven’t been around enough of these different vehicles to know offhand, but if you have any thoughts please chime in here. Let’s figure this out!

Cheers!
Jude
