getting the FASS pump without the filter or air seperator? Its still $400 and I can afford that right now, but cant come up with the extra $$ to get the one with filters and seperator. I need it now and didnt really want to mess with replacing stock LP

The idea behind the dual filters is to ensure that there is no air in the fuel feeding your injection pump. One is a standard particulate and oil/water filter and the other is a hydraulic filter (to eliminate the air) I have spoken with quite a few of the well known names and all have concluded that the dual filter is not necessary. That said I do have it and let me tell you that the hydraulic filter cost is insane. If $$$ is a concern for you I would stay away from the dual filter variety.

Someone else may chime in to confirm or provided another opinion, but ultimately the decision will be yours.

Don't ask me-- I think the whole FASS is a waste of money!

I guess I have too much money. I have the FASS II, and am well pleased with it.
