this is wierd

i was driving along in my 2000 ctd and all of a sudden my mph guage went down and then back up to 70 and then my abs light and brake light came on nothing in the engine happen checked all fuses what happen

Sounds like you lost your speed sensor. In my 99 it's located in the rear differential. About $60.00 if I recall, it's been a couple of years since mine went out. Your "regular" brakes will work fine, but the ABS system won't work until you replace the sensor.

i can reset it but then like after the third time i go to drive it the lights come on dose this matter but anyways is it hard to replace do i haft to take it to dealer or shop or can i do my self thanx for the info

No, it's not hard to replace. I changed mine out at a camp ground in Colorado. I bought it a a local dealer for about $35.
