What Engine?

Ok, a couple of months ago, I bought a 99 Dodge QC LB 4WD with the 6spd tranny, and 4:10 gears. I am trying to figure out what the engine was/is rated at. I know there have been many different ratings to come out in the Dodge trucks. Obviously I know that it is a 24 valve, but how can I find out if it is a "HO" or not, and what it's ratings are?

Thanks

your truck is 235 HP and 460 TQ the HO's were not until 2001 which were rated at 245 HP and 505 TQ.

Just add an Edge EZ and you'll top the HO numbers by a little.

Thanks fellas,

right after I bought the truck, I got a deal on a BD Diesel Performance box. A buddy has a 99 with an A/T and it was messing up his tranny, so he unloaded on me for 150 bucks. It's a 50 hp, and 150 ft/lbs increase. I am very happy with the performance of the truck except for such low gearing. I am running 255/85 R16s on it right now, but a little taller would be nicer to get the rpm's a little lower at cruising speeds. 315's will be the next step.

Welcome to DTR.
If the box is a BD "Tow Pro" , it's identical to an Edge EZ. Just a different sticker on top. It's a good box and probably an earlier model, pre chinese circuits, which I believe to be better.... less prone to failure.
Enjoy it!
