Well it happened
Well it happened
My vp44 went out at 51,480 miles.
Let me start at the beginning last night I get a call from my wife on her way home from practice and tell me that the Jeep Cherokee is acting funny.
She gives it gas and it wont accelerate any more and then it all the sudden it will start accelerating fine and then it finally died on her after she waited a minute it started back up and she was able to make it the rest of the way home.
Well the cherokee has a Supercharger that I put on it actually if anyone reads Petersons offroad it is in the March issue i think page 52.
Anyway so I have 2 fuel pumps on it the stock one in the tank and another one that boosts pressure when needed to keep up with the supercharger so I figure the one in the tank has gone bad.
This morning I went and got the trailer and loaded it up to take to the shop on my way I started getting DEAD PEDAL so I went by the other shop and hooked up the DRB and there it was P0216 injector pump timing failure so almost $1500 later I have the pump and I figured why I was working on it I bought some 70 Horse injectors also so tomorrow morning I will tear it apart and hopefully get it running and then do the fuel pump on the cherokee.
What a day.
