Weird: EZ unplugged, 6-speed shift much better..

That's right. It's the weirdest thing! When I dummy my EZ (use it as a boost fooler only), my transmission shifts a LOT easier! The 6-speed is known to sometimes be hard-shifting, and mine would sometimes be difficult, mostly when cold.

Is it logical that there could be a connection between the timing of the EZ and the shifting? The onlt thing I can think of is that the timing of the EZ causes harsher (or different) engine harmonics which make it harder for the synchronizers to do their job.

I disconnected and reconnected the EZ multiple times. It was like a switch to turn on smooth shifting! EZ on-- shifting harder; EZ off, shifting easier.

Anyone else notice this? I am running my EZ as a boost fooler only now that the cooler weather is here.

I also wanted to mention that with DD2s only, I can't make the truck smoke, no matter how hard I try! I live at 6000 feet, too. That Fitch fuel catalyst must reduce the smoke as they claim.....

I know if I turn my box off, the truck feels alot more sluggish, but mine is an auto. Maybe the added torque of the Edge changes your shift points? Have youo tried changing shift patterns to see if that helps?
