Valve Adjustment

Valve adjustment isn't in the maint. schedule until 150,000 miles (least that's what local Cummins told me).
Anyone do it sooner/more often?

I think it depends more on the type of use you put it thru. If you pull loads a lot you should do the valve adjust between 80 - 100,000 miles. If it's just a grocery getter maybe it is OK to go 150,000.. I won't go past 100,000 miles on mine.

From everything I have read most folks are checking them around 100k and not finding much deveation

I checked mine at 172000 because I thought I heard some valve train noise. Only one exhaust valve was out about 2 thou. But I did have peace of of mind knowing it was done.

I normally check mine at least once a year....... I have found that there can quite a bit of variance on the lash from cummins.
