Valve adj ?'s

Please bear with me this is my 1st time.
Did valves for TDC and finally decided to do as follows....
Intake .010 -.015, fairly tight on .015 when setting. Slight resistance @.010
Exhaust .020 -.025, Fairly tight on .025 when setting. Slight resistance @ .120

After doing above they are really close to bottom end of spec but how much resistance should there be?

If I'm ok above, how far do you rotate 180*? And which way should the timing mark go ?

Go slow I get confused really easy .

thanks for the help.

When the timing mark on the pump lines up with the TDC mark on the cover you adjust 3 intake and 3 exhaust then you rotate 180 degree and adjust 3 intake and 3 exhaust. I'm not sure what the order is without looking at my book.

You should have a light amount of resistance on the feeler gauge when adjusting the allen head screw, but beware as you snug down the nuts it will still tighten the rocker a bit, no matter how hard you try to hold the allen wrench still.

Thanks. 180*
I have info on which valves for tdc and bdc. Your not kiddin they will snug down. I battled with that for a while... too tight then too loose UGH!!!!!!!!
I was really getting torqued up and then took a break and went a did my paying job for a while and came back and finally settled on above info.

A good way to know it its set on the money is the over under technique. For example the intake valve is adjusted to .010 inch. Use a feeler guage for .009 and .011. The .009 should fit in just fine and the .011 should not fit at all.

or u can torque each rocker down to 6 in.lbs with the feeler gauge , but the cummins tool for that is a little pricey @ $60.00 hard to find a torque wrench that goes that low.

I like TQ method you mention... what special tool? is it a socket or crowsfoot?

I have not adjusted my valves yet, was going to do the old indexing method but I would rather use the torque method. This rating is 6 Inlbs cold right?
