Question Turbo Silencer Ring?

Seems that every time I try to use the search button it's never working! ARG! LOL

I have seen several posts where people have pulled the silencer ring - my question is what differnce does it make?

It makes the turbo louder, it really sounds a lot better. Performance wise I doubt it though.

Yep, just make a whole lot more noise, no performance difference. I took mine out, but I didn't throw it away.

I've only noticed the louder 'whine' in the cab. I have not noticed it when driving with the windows open. Of course that has only been once since the ring was removed. Hope to really hear it winding up this spring with my fifth wheel behind me.

I found removing the SR made very little difference with the stock air box, but after the AFE and 4" exaust it was incredible how pronounced it was. Now saddly I cant hear the whine from my HX35 because the HT3B is way LOUDER
