Truck died last night

99 Dodge Ram 2500 CTD. I was driving my truck last night, I went to hammer down on the throttle and engine died. I got off the highway attempted to restart. Engine cranks but will not restart. I haven't checked out anything yet it happen last night and I was planning to take a look at it this evening. Any ideas????? I have replaced the lift pump once still running the original injection pump with 75,000 miles on it.

at this point, all you can do is check for codes. and crack open the injection lines at the head and crank the engine.........if you get no fuel the vp44 is probably gone..

Not to cause panic, but the same thing happened to me when my vp44 died. I stopped at an intersection to turn right. Pulled out and gave her some fuel and then she said no more and I coasted to the side of the road. Check codes though...good luck!
