Where are your sensors located?

If one is not in the line coming from your torque converter to the back end of the heat exchanger you may not be seeing full heat. It is the line that has the check ball in it that needs to be removed for full flow to the cooler. If you do that you will experience about 30 seconds of waiting for the torque converter to fill but you need that for the turbo to heat up anyway.

There could be other reasons for the light. Bad sensor -short?

Trans Temp light is supposed to come on at temps of 280 or thereabouts.

I'd say you have a short, or bad factory sensor.
