I'm rebuilding a trans for my cousin, the truck is 4x4, the trans is 2wd. I bought a 4x4 od unit, not even thinking about the spline count for the tcase.

My cousins truck is a 99 2500 Auto and the od unit is from a 1996 3500 4x4, will the spline counts be the same? or am i just going to have to wait untill i get the truck to finish it to be sure???

I'll call him tonight and see if he can't get me the tcase number because i know it could be a dhd or a dld, but i'm not sure if spline count changed between them and same goes with the 96. Thanks!

 

Yep, Autos were all 23 spline, though I did just see an aftermarket 29 spline output on the PATC website, you wouldn't find one of those in the wild though.

 

Well that's good, its usually my luck I would of put new clutches in the od only to find out the spine count was wrong lol..
