hi guys, going down the road the other day, no warning and my front driveshaft came apart in the rear and took out the fitting that goes into the tranny for the rear line. dealer wants $43 for the thing

is there an alternative?
is there another source that is cheaper?

BTW 70,000 mile powertrain warranty, dodge installed a new shaft 4/04 truck has 73,000 miles and they wont do anything about it. so with no job at the current moment, need to get it fixed as inexpensively as i can.

 

looked around several places today, no luck, guess i am gonna have to ante up and order the right one from dodge.

thank you..... i called another dealer 100 miles away, the part which was $43 here, retailed for $36.10 there, and they sold it to me for $25.27 and shipped it to me free. truck is fixed now except for the driveshaft.
