Ok so I'm driving along and my truck seems to go into overdrive sooner than it should and so when I need the power ill push the pedal down until it down shifts.........I almost have to push it to the floor to get it too switch out of OD and when it does it downshifts twice. Also when im cruising along and I hit OD off it downshifts twice too.

Any suggestions?

The first downshift is the torque converter unlocking and then the next shift is from 4th to 3rd. Yours sounds similair to how mine operates and I have a fairly recent Goerend trans, nature of the beast unfortunately.

 

Hmmm, I guess that could be just normal operation. We might both have an issue and just dont know it. Maybe someone else with an auto will chime in.

 

What speed does your truck shift into 3rd and lockup and 4th gear lockup. What rearend ratio does your truck have and size of tires. That will give others a idea if your trans is shifting normally.

 

not sure if it has anything to do with it but there is a apps noise isolator that is supposed to fix problems with torque converter lock up cycling on & off....filters out noise interference from apps......
