tire wobble
tire wobble
just replaced pitman arm, shocks ,front end aliment, still have a wobble in front passenger side. also a clunging noise in the same side this started after i put the shocks on. shocks are on tight.thanks.
You would think an alignment guy would find a problem with it, if he was nice enough to shake down the front end.
Is the clunk when accelerating, turning, coasting?
Take and jack the truck up by the frame so the suspension isnt loaded up. Take a pry bar under the tire and lift, then push the tire in. Find out where the play is at. Thats just a start. Someone else may come along with the exact same problem and tell yah exactly what it is. Could be ball joints. A bad tie rod end will sometimes give ya a little bit of a clunk too. If its just one side doing it, my bet would be one of those.

clunking has usually turned out to be lower track bar joint or lower shock mount. have someone saw the steering wheel while you watch the track bar (key on, NOT running). even if the lower shock bolt is tight, give it another check because it takes quite a bit of squeeze to pull the ears in tight on the lower mount. also, maybe the sway bar bushings. have someone rock the truck body while you watch the end links.
