to start this off its not my truck its my buddys. He changed his oil the other night and refiled it. I was not there when he did the oil change and well I really dont know what he did. but he started it after he said he made sure the oil was where is was suposed to be. he then drove it around the block and then it went pop and started knocking no smoke no nothing like that. so he calls me I go look at it and there is oil poring out of the tappet cover and the engine is knocking real bad. What would cause it to start to leak if the rod rearing went out? I beat on him for more info and he said he but 2 quarts of lucas in the crank case when he did the oil change. the truck is an 02 manual if that makes any differance.

 

Rod exited the side of the block?

Do you see anything odd about the tappet cover, above or below?

 

it starts leaking oil behind the computer then starts to migrate up the block. and that side of the engine is is a cluster of things.

 

Why??? Sounds to me like there was a reason he added the lucas.

 

no reason for the lucas ive drove the truck and seen it on friday and then he changed his oil on sunday then it blew up rite after he changed his oil.
