Taking Off Loaded
I'v only had my CTD about 6 months. Love the truck so far
. My question is, when you tow a load [ as in TT] do you baby it taking off from a dead stop, or just nail it. My truck is still stock
and pulls or TT well but some times I kinda hammer it taking off. Is there anything such as tranny or drivetrain issues I should be worried about doing this? We only tow about 2k a year, the rest is my daily driving. Thanks in advance for any opinions!

Take a tip from the Tractor Trailer drivers.
Do they floor-board the throttle from a dead stop?
It places a lot of strain on driveline, and hitch parts.
Just take it easy. Your truck, hitch, and trailer will love you for it.

I would say take it easy through first gear. Once it get to second give a bit more juice. When you hit 3rd give it hell.
Like all the old fire trucks (2,000 gallons) we have up here the low gears a very strong. Once you make it to the top gear it is pure pulling now...
