switch to amsoil?
I've heard alot lately about how Amsoil synthetic engine oil is supposed to be the best to run right now. I was wondering what people thought of it good or bad? I'm running Shell Rotella right now.
HAHA, ya, DD hit it right on the spot. There have been TONS of opinions about what oil to run. If you try a search for ams oil, you'll find more than you can read at one sitting.
It all depends on preference. As long as you use something that is approved by cummins, then the sky is your limit.
Good luck,
Hunter

Important Note: If you choose to run a synthetic, find out the recommendations on oil drain intervals. You'll find that they'll all say to change at 6 months.
If you want to do extended drains, with or without synthetic oil, then plan on putting on a by-pass system and having the oil analyzed.

and, and , and if concerned with amsoil warranty extended oil change periods note the air filter as required in rossn2 sig above!
Hey rossn2, is that TS189 breather something new? I don't remember it there at the last amsoil warranty review board meeting?!
How do you like it? STY
