looking for some help here . . . regarding truck in sig.

upon pulling tranny out of park and into reverse or a forward gear, so ANY gear - the engine surges and stumbles like it is about to stall and usually gets back to a smooth idle after 3-5 stumbles. i can make it go away if i return to park.

this usually occurs, and i can make it do it if i bring it out of park right after startup, but still sometimes occurs if it has been idling for a while in park.

any ideas on what this may be? i have only noticed this for the last few months to a year. it happened with the STOCK LP and it is still happening with the MITUSA PUMP (in case you are thinking it may be the LP)

I am thinking it is either the tranny or the VP44 going bad. never used to have this problem, and my habits/routines of starting/shifting have not changed at all.

Try turning your ignition key on and off three times, any codes should come up on the mileage screen. Do not engage the starter. Twogun

 

Key frequently doesn't give all of the codes. Get it scanned - all of the chain stores loan scanners. It is likely a sensor.
