i have a 99 2500 with a 5 speed and have been having problems with what seems like a stutter. i changed fuel pump to a airdog yesterday and thought i had problem solved until i pulled trailer today. empty going to get tractor it ran fine but when i loaded tractor and started down the road it started again. what has me puzzled is that the first two gears are fine and sometimes 3rd's fine but 4th and 5th it starts stuttering.it seems like when the boost comes up is when it does it. i am leaning towards a injector fluttering but don't know any help would be appreciated.

 

Sounds like it is not getting enough fuel. And that will kill thre VP in short order. Get a fuel pressure gauge and don't let the pressure run under 5 psi.

 

i have a fuel pressure gauge and the pressure is good. i have a airdog 150 on it. what has got me stumped is that none of the gauges seem to change when it does it.
