Second time this has happened.

Go to start the truck and it starts to make an awful racket, like meshing, and grinding gears
Try to shut off truck and she keeps on going.
Noise comes from under truck, not under hood.
When she finally does shut off, motor (?) sounds like a JET engine shutting down. (Whines like a stuck pig!)

Me thinks its the Starter??

Can you guys confirm??

 

The starter gear is not retracting,staying engaged in the flywheel.Fix this right away could destroy your flywheel,could even break the tranny case.
