smoke?

smoke?

One of the guys i work with has a 2001 cummins that has an aftermarket intake and muffler deleted,he has noticed it smoking between shifts and when he gets on it,Any ideas,thanks in advance!!!!

Hey!
I posted this same question earlier and got no response.
I puff a stream of black smoke while low in the rpm band right after a shift.
I thought that it might be fromthe new ULSD, and the fact that I have been adding "homebrew" additive - made from 1 gallon of TCWIII two stroke oil mixed with 1 quart of Power Service Deezil Kleen.
It never did it beofer - that I noticed.
Economy is about the same, and I haven't noticed any reduction in performance.

THANKS to both replies,ive got an 02 with an automatic in it,i have not really noticed mine putting out alot of black smoke when i get on it,im also running soy biodiesel in mine,the guy i work with has a 6 speed and i think is running regular diesel.thanks again!!!!

Mine puffs a little unintentional smoke on take-off too. Not much oxygen in the air here either in the afternoon but lots of humidity/water.

I get a puff between shifts that seems to be more noticeable to me as well.... oh well... At least the cars behind me know I'm shifting
