slow anti-freeze drip?

I saw under my truck a wet spot. This is the 98 24V, not the 93.
I looked and it had a very very slow drip....maybe a drop every couple of minutes. I think it is anti-freeze.?
I cannot pinpoint where it is coming from. At first I thought it was the idler wheel (is this where the water pump hangs out?), but on close inspection I think it is from below that. I have never changed a water pump on this, and I know all my gas vehicles over the years...a drip of anti-freeze was the first sign of a water pump going out. I don't know if it is the same for the diesel or not.
Anybody have any ideas.? If so, do I just let it get real bad so I know for sure where it is coming from? Is this a part I dare get from autozone?..or do I need an "official" part...if that's what it is? What's the chance of a leaky gasket..?

The area you are speaking of is where the water pump is. Water pump and from the thermostat housing are common leak places that I've seen. Clean up the motor and get a bright flashlight to tell you. Water pump is not too difficult on these motors and most I've seen get them from their local parts house.

This is odd.
I drove it today. parked it for hours and hours,...NOT ONE DRIP.

how am I ever going to find it now.

I guess I'll have to wait until it gets worse.

Pressure test it, then look around with a mirror & flashlight.

FYI: 98.5-99 can have a water leak @ front left corner of head, just below the thermostat from a poorly designed head gasket. Your description leads me to think water pump also.

Mine leaked for years also but got bad enough that I fixed it with a new head gasket.
