Hello all,
My truck has always clattered pretty obviously at shut down and only occasionally goes down quietly. I noticed this Saturday morning at an event where me and a friend arrived side by side and shut our trucks down, both 2001 24V with minor upgrades...I noticed his was quiet with the serp squeak, and mine rattled off and squeaked...

Any thoughts? Note I replaced the vp a couple years back with no change in sounds...

Enlist the aid of a helper. Trying to pinpoint a sound from inside the cab is almost impossible. The clatter on my 1st gen is from a slightly loose running board. It took me years to find it. Happy hunting.
