In Search of Better MPG?

Are there any "add ons" that will perhaps reset the timing or make any other adjustments for better MPG's. I don't need or want any more power (not ready or willing to replace my auto tranny) but my mileage really hurts especially with $2.00 per gallon for Diesel.

Thanks

Ron

Just wondering, what mileage are you getting now? Is it the 15.8 listed in your signature?

With my Diablo Sport "Power Puck" I gain about 2-4 mpg. It will increase your HP but not enough to cause you any problems. A lot of people on here also use the Edge box but I don't have any experience with it. I've had my Puck for about 40k miles now and haven’t had any tranny problems and I pull a lot.

WellI've seen a lot of good ideas for power in this site but I think we are all going to be looking for a way to make better MPG than HP!

I would like to hear something to improve fuel mileage....

Free flowing intake and exhuast
Edge Ez or equivalent
Bosch 275RV or ISB300 Injectors
Synthetic Fluids Throughout
A good fuel additive (Power Service)

Also make sure of correct tire pressures and proper alignments.

I'm getting about 15.8 right now. Mileage has never been much better or worse. These are unloaded miles with 50/50 highway/city. I really would love to see figures closer to the 17 to 19 MPG's others seem to get but I do not want to put my injector pump into harm's way and don't want to stress the tranny. My whimpy 420ft/lbs is enough to get my truck around and although 600+ft/lbs sure would be fun, I really don't want to upgrade at this point.

Intel, would the injectors give you better gas mileage, I plan on doing the rest of the mods you listed. But I thought with injectors you got same or worse gas mileage but a big increase in power?

I cannot give you the scientific reasons but injectors geneally will give you more power and lower fuel economy unless you don't use the power than you have a net increase of economy. It increases the need to stay out of the throttle.
