runaway cruise control

my dads 99 has cruise control issues, when you set it at 70mph it keeps climbing and in no time at all your at 85mph is it servo problem it dont do it all the time after you mess with it enough it will act normal. any help is greatly appreciated.

I've seen a few servo's do that,esp. if some batt acid has gotten to it

Servo.. Our 96 did the same thing. Replaced and now all is well.

hi
my 98 did some funky moves for a while and i removed the electrical plug and cleaned it an filled with dilectric grease and now is rock steady ??

not sure if they have a ground but that maby also ?
