right front abs sensor

abs and brake light on - intermittently. Speedo works so its not the rear sensor. Changed the brake light switch - no love!

Just got scanned - code 21 right front abs sensor. Called the dealer and got part number 5015882aa. Same number for left or right front sensor.

Now the question - are both front sensors the same? Wire length etc?

Sound right guys?

Im gonna clean it and see, but want to be ready to order the (correct) part

Thanks in advance.

PS - something funny - the scan also said i should replace the lift pump. I just smiled at the mechanic -

Just keep in mind that just because it throws a bad sensor code doesn't mean it's a bad sensor. When a unit bearing starts going bad it allows the reluctor ring between the bearings to fall out of line with the sensor and throw abs codes.

It could be that your wheel bearings just need a repack if you are using the stock sensor. FWIW most (all?) unit bearings come with a new sensor so if you got a buddy who replaced a unit bearing you might be able to get the sensor for free.

I just did both of my front sensors yesterday. They are both the same part number. So length is the same. Use a metric allen wrench for the bolt that holds the sensor to the hub. You will have to take the rotor off to get to it.
