reg. cab Dually

im looking to buy a 3500 reg. cab longbed dually. All of them i've found so far have flatbeds on them. im looking for one with a pickup bed. My question is if anyone knows that if i buy one with a flatbed will i be able to replace it with a pick-up bed? the reason i ask is because i know sometimes on different brand trucks the dually rear ends are narrower if they came from the factory as a cab and chassis. So i dont want to buy one with a flatbed and then put the pickup bed on it and have the rear end be too narrow for the dually fenders.
thanks for the help.

I'm not totally sure about all the years, but I believe with all the 2nd gen. C&Cs the rear axles were narrower. (I assume you're looking for a 2nd gen. since that's where you posted.) Hope this helps.

Theres not a lot out there, but there are a few. I actually just found a 99 reg cab dually 2wd with the 5spd on thursday. If I wasn't already waist deep in the truck I already have, I'd be all over it.
