Rebuilding front end
Rebuilding front end
well i'm thinking about rebuilting my front end but i'm not too sure i really need to. the only thing that even makes me think about it is the fact that it pulls to the right enough that it drives me nuts. what i probably NEED to do is take it in for an alignment and see what they have to say. but what i thought of doing was this: gettin a thuren track bar and thuren crossover steering kit, and then replacing my ball joints too THEN get it aligned. but i'm not sure all of this is necessary. i know there's ways of checking this stuff myself but i don't know how i'm a layman's terms kinda man so if someone cares to touch on this too i'd appreciate it.
but also do i really need the crossover kit or can i just replace tie rod ends and what not instead?
well that's all for now i hope it wasn't just a bunch of babbling
thanks guys

I have 312,000 miles on my 1999 - 2500, I have had to replace a couple upper ball joints and 1 lower ball joint but my tie rod ends are all original, I grease what ever I can every 25,000 miles.
The alignment shop can check out and fix your problem of pulling to the right, could be a tire.

You may have to go w/ the Thuren third gen trac bar and trac bar kit. The anchor point on the drivers side is quite close to the diff and in a compression it could hit the diff. Don Thuren suggests cheking clearance with a spray paint can lid. Cut a section out of it so it fits over the existing trac bar head and see if you have enough clearance. The newer 2nd gens usually don't. Mine was close enough that I went with the 2nd gen and a 2" levelling kit and everything clears. My steering is %100 better after replacing everything in the front end but the box. Also Don is great. He's very helpful and won't sell you anyhting you don't need and his trac bar is bulletproof.
