rear ends

hey hope this is in the right spot.......
job change forces me to make a change i'm going from 20 miles a day to 35miles ONEWAY
i have 4:10 rears and am thinking of letting them go if i can find some 3:56's

i love my truck and how it pulls. if i get traction i'm gone
how much different will it be with higher gears as far as pulling?

anyone wanna trade?

I am thinking of doing the same thing. does anyone have any experience with this? How much would it cost to have someone do it? is it worth it in the end?

Have you considered 35" tires (315/75/16's)? Would be cheaper and will get you a lot taller gearing.

how much does a swap cost? wouldnt bigger tires throw the speedo off, and wear out suspension parts faster? also they would probably get worse mileage

i'm not really pulling like i was when i bought it, i got rid of the mud trucks and and am no longer doing most of my brother-in laws farm work for him ( he got a different job also) so having the 4:10,s is like an overkill of sorts. i mostly tow a trailer loaded with quads or a camper. neither of witch is that heavy

and i don't want to go back to a gasser and i can't afford to trade so i guess i'll swap rears.

im thinking about going with 315's (35's). from what ive calculated and read youll get pretty durn close to 3:55 gearing.

ill just have to see tho, i drove my dads 06 with the 3:55 auto and it just dosent pull like mine (chip was set to off). but i dont really pull, just like the acceleration. might be worth it for lower rpm's and better fuel mileage
