Rear End Swap
Rear End Swap
I am about to have to do some work to my truck's rearend. It is roaring & leaking at the pinion seal. I assume pinion bearings gone. If the ring gear or pinion shaft have no significant wear, is there any reason to do anything other than replace the pinion bearings. I would like some advice on what to replace while I am in there, so I can get another 250K out of it. I know from checking at my Dodge dealer today, they only offer 355's & 410's for my truck. I was interested in getting in the middle of that, like the 373's. Does anybody offer aftermarket gears for the Dodge Dana 70 that would fit in the middle? I have also considered swapping entire rearend for a late 01 or 02 with the rear disc brakes. Anybody know how much trouble this would be? Thanks

I understand they have good prices. I know they did on the locker unit I was looking at.
Yes, they have a 3.73 for the D70.
