Angry RB4 Navigation Radio & iPod??

I have an '05 Ram with the RB4 Nav Radio. It's apparently faulty and needs to be replaced (no GPS audio). I asked the guy if it were possible to add an adapter at the time of installation so I can use my iPod with it. He didn't know. I found some threads that mentioned a "Pie" adapter, but the specs exclude the RB4 radio. Has anyone had luck with this?

I would really like to have a mapping unit that reads MP3s (RB1?) The service guy told me Chrysler will not allow me to select a different radio and pay the difference, even though they have to replace the thing anyway. He says I would have to buy a whole new radio at 100% cost. Doesn't make much sense... Has anyone succeeded at such a maneuver?

Thanks,
-AG

Welcome to DTR AG.

I can't help you with as I have never had to deal with something like that before. However I can understand why they don't want to put in a different radio. They can only warranty what came with the truck when it was built. If there is a radio that you want but is not offered by Dodge in any vehicle then they can't give a warranty on it.

BTW I believe this is in the wrong forum. The forum you want for this post is down in the 3rd Gen area. Your truck is a 3rd generation Ram (2003 and up) Once a moderator or the Admin see this I am sure it will be moved to the right area.

Again, welcome to DTR.

Dodge radio

Actually, I would just want a different one offered on the Ram trucks (I believe the RB1 is available for my model?) If it cost more, then I'd pay the difference.

Sorry about the incorrect location of my post... I'm obviously a newbie! Thanks for the input.
