Just get $1500 to $2000 discount if they can't document the VP history. Get some more discount for gauges & front end has ANY play at all. Research how to test tie rods ball joints & steering. More discounts for body work. New tires run $650 & air conditioner can also be expensive. Just look close & be picky. Edit: Take a scanner with you. They tell more than the key on procedure & are free to borrow from the parts store. Take list of diagnostic codes with you.

Ya that's what I want to do. I really don't want to buy from a dealership though, and I hate acting like that to a private seller where the price seems fair. The interior of the 98-02 are really growing on me though. I just don't want to run into huge problems with the 24V fuel system. I really want a 4x4 but I'm also realizing how few times I use the 4wd, is there a huge gas MPG difference with the 2wd vs. 4wd?

the 99 got a blue chip special x
the 01 drw got a standard blue chip SO pump and my 01 HO is still running the original VP

I agree with the mach1.6s being a perfect injector but as far as a HRVP ...I want a set of towing twins and my wife know exactly what they look like She always comes out to see what im doing to the truck and remembers EVERYTHING! (almost photographic).

Hiding methanol nozzles and nos nozzles are easy to hide, not so with twins. The dealsership used to freakout when I drove my truck into the dealership. I'm going simpler. After five head gaskets, my wife has just given up on me.
