poor shifting NV4500
poor shifting NV4500
Few weeks ago had my clutch disk pop out a spring and had to float the gears to get it home about 3 miles. Southbend repaired free all i paided was shipping it to them awsome. When putting back together, thought I better change trans fluid and I installed that hydraulic kit from southbend. On the road again it shifts poor if I try rushing it. I put royal purple maxgear in as per there specs. I put in 4 quarts and that was after it came out of the fill hole. And filled the rest threw the shifter. The trans also sounds noiser then ever! What the heck, anyone have issues with royal purple? Did a search and a few people said they put in 5 to 6 quarts. After running it should I recheck see if it needs more? Im going to try to adjust that hydraulics a little but I dont think thats it any ideas?

make sure what you put in has the correct GL rating which if i remeber is a 4 thats the only one if you put another in it will shift poor and ruin it as time gooes on. eats up the brass i believe
Changed out the oil and put in the mopar stuff. But still shifting bad. Im going to check the level again tonight and see if it changed after driving it around. It came out of the fill hole around 3.75 quarts. The royal purple stuff did have a GL-4 rating and it did seem to get better the more I drove. And this time I had about drove around about 20 miles before I drained the oil so it was nice and warm.
