Performance without blowing it up

Before I start Id like to apologize if this pisses anyone off.
So I have a completely stock '99 2wd auto. Just got it. It has 196,000 miles on it. I want to throw some stuff on it for performance and looks, the three biggest things I want to put on it are stacks ( Grand rock stacks 6" stacks), airdog or fass, and injectors (150hp to 200hp). If you have any suggestions on what I should put on thatd be awesome. And once again Im sorry if Ive offended anyone I looked throught the forums and couldnt find anything that sufficed my need for knowledge. Thanks again guys.

mach 1.6 injectors, PDR modded HX35 turbo, small box like an EZ or perhaps an XZT+. 4" pipe from the turbo back to whatever you do. that will give you a mild performance boost, and guaranteed won't blow it up. Unless you drive like an idiot.

Personally I'd hold off on performance stuff until you get the basics out of the way. The basics include:

1. Gauges -- EGT, boost, fuel pressure
2. FASS or Airdog

Once you get those out of the way then you can move on to the performance stuff. I will say right off the bat that for any significant power gains, you'll need to do some tranny upgrades. The stock tranny, especially one that has almost 200,000 miles on it will not hold up. You could do a small box like an EZ, as Pind suggests, but to go beyond that you'll toast the tranny fairly quickly.

No no of course guages I was just speaking in purely performance. Thats all Ive heard from people is to get guages first so thats what I am doing, no worries on that. So a small box, could I put bigger injectors on it? like pind suggested the mach 1.6 85hp? I also saw the mach 3 I believe which is 130hp, would that be too much?

i agree with rogerr i started out i bought the edge juice but never turned it up past level 3 because the tranny didn't like it it would shudder if i did and my truck only has 40k miles on it so i got the tranny done now i turn the edge up to 5 and have no worries. Tranny needs to be on the top of the list. And unfortunately its not cheap to do.

Best advise starts at Post 5. Start there, and then go back to the top and continue.
