P0230

I have a 2001 2500. Last month I had the dreaded P0216 and P1693. I replaced the VP-44 and the lift pump (OEM) and all codes clear. This week I get P0230 primary fuel circuit failure. The lift pump is pushing 14 PSI at idle, but when I open the throttle, the needle on the pressure gauge vibrates from 5 – 20 PSI so fast all you can see is a blur. Anyone have an idea, should I be looking for a ECM?

From: North Carolina or Kentucky. Take your pick
Look carefully at wiring to lift pump. You may have damaged a terminal. Some replacement LP require a short jumper cable. Check pressure at VP44 to reduce amount of vibration. Feel LP while idling and accelerating in stall. It should be smooth running. The new LP could be bad. Check for damaged hoses also.
