P0122 code, apps

Do you EVER get a P0122 code (with accompanying symptoms...pedal getting weird at times) and have it NOT be the APPS.?????
Hate to drop the cash and find out I'm wrong.

Did you try the reset, using the instructions I sent you?

With mine, it threw the P0122 and after I replaced the APPS I got the P0216. If you're concerned about the cost, check out Ebay. I'd get on it though! Not that I have any evidence to prove it, but I believe the poor fueling from the bad APPS may have been responsible for my VP taking a dump!

Yes, I've done the reset. Have had to do it (for shifting) about 3 times in the last year.

I've also re'set the voltage to .534 the other day (it was at .483 when I checked it, so I changed it to .534, which was listed on the back of the sensor).

It doesn't throw CEL light as much, but still throws it (it is probably on about 30 percent of the time right now, but before it was USUALLY on...., and now and then the throttle acts like a drunk hog.

Also, clearing the code, sometimes it stays away a day or two, but then comes back.

I am bidding on the ones coming up on ebay tomorrow (I think one is the day after also.).

I've decided not to bid on the one that is from a wrecked '03 with 40K miles on it.

I did some research on the apps sensors that are used in the industry. and there are usually TWO potentiometers running in tandem. The only reason I can see for this is that they are made to wear at a different rate, so the computer will know when the apps goes bad. That may also explain why resetting the voltage can squeeze a little more life out of it. (but not much, I think),.

Thanx for the helps.

I agree that you don't get much more life out of it, but it'll get you by 'til you get the new one. Good luck on Ebay. That's where I got mine and it was nearly 1/2 the price Cummins quoted. I hope your injection pump is fine!

just a heads up.... you can buy one from dodgeparts.com for $331 plus shipping if Ebay doesn't work out or the auction gets too expensive.

Cost me $275. bucks on ebay...about 5 minutes ago. But I got a new one rather than from a crashed vehicle. I hope he sends it quick.;
My truck was acting drunk again this morning.

Well the reason they use two channels is for a back-up. You are talking about throttle. If it only had one and the voltage went up the throttle would go up. With dual channel it wants to see both before it will change.
