Oil tube in front of engine makes a mess!

What is the deal with the crankcase oil tube that comes out the front of the engine and down to dirty the entire front end and back. I t makes a mess underbody all the way to the starter.

I thinkmy starter got messed up because of that. I jsut replaced it .

Is there a fix for this tube thing and what is the deal with this tube?

Thks in advance! T

Replace it with a longer tube that goes down to where the front stabilizer meets the frame on the drivers side. You can either tuck it in there or wire tie it on. It should just blow it on the ground and not all over everything else.

You might also want to check your radiator. The gunk from the tube can get between the fins and cause overheating problems.

Just drain the canister when you change the oil it just unthreads from the hose.

It sure does, it makes a freaking mess on the radiator!

I took my radiator out last summer, and I can't believe how much gunk was between the fins. I used five cans of degreaser at the car wash to power wash all that crud out. I relocated the puke bottle to below the fender away from the fan and the engine, truck is clean as whistle now, and runs cool as a cucumber.

The Cummins engineer responsible for the puke bottle should get fired, along with the guy who designed the lift pump!
