I use the Valvoline Premium Blue. Endorsed by Cummins, and cheap at the Cummins place. Any of the major diesel rated oils are fine though.

Rotella in all my Diesels......tractors, & Trucks. Although I did try sythentic in my tractor for a year....worked OK, with a little usage....old engine. I burn Sythentic in my car and lawn mower. OK I can hear you laughing...the mower works harder than the car!

Any 15W-40 oil with the API rating of CI-4 on the API seal on the bottle. I have used Chevron Delo 400 (good stuff). I now use Valvoline Premium Blue. It was hard for me to find Delo 400 out here. Premium Blue is really good stuff too. Hard to beat something endosred and reccomended by Cummins. I would not hesitate to use either. Both are real good quality dino oils. Likewise with Shell Rotella (although I have never used it).

BTW here is a poll I started long time ago asking the same thing.

I've been using Exxon 15W-40 for just about the whole life of my truck... Never had any problem with this...

Even Cerified for Cummins...

Hell of a lot cheaper to buy 5 gallon buckets that quarts...

I have always been a BIG fan of Mobil Delvac 15W40... I run that in my over the road trucks, power joke and my old and new CTD. I had over 300k on my 12V and it didnt burn a drop, i used delvac since new... However any oil with the correct rating will do the job!!
