NV5600 Input Shaft

I broke the input shaft in my NV5600. Now I am in search of a new one. Any suggestions on who to check with or where to get one. I wish they made an upgraded one, but that doesn't seem to be the case from anywhwere. So what are your suggestions on this to get?

Just made a right hand turn onto another road, started up through the gears and got to third and that is when it let go. But I have a feeling drag racing did it. even though I never was that hard on it when at the track.

I just bought a nv5600 from these guys out of Oklahoma City. Not sure if they will have just the shaft or if you will have to buy the whole tranny. Call down and talk to Dillon

Another place to check out is Mantrans. I got a used tranny somewhere, found out the case was cracked and fixed, these guys were very knowledgeable without looking into the computer. They seemed to have used and new parts, I got a used case (the right one, there were several varieties) for $250, I believe they do everything from full built trannies to OEM replacement parts. Good luck.

Did you try www.standardtransmission.com? Or www.QUAD4X4.com ?

Thanks for that info, I had been told quad4x4 had them, but wasn't sure about getting an import. Seems that is about all there is now.

Well, my input shaft is on the way to be Cryoed. Clutch disk are on the way, bearing retainer, bearings and seals are on the way. Hopefully it will get back together next week, and hope the Cryo was worth the money, we will see.

Said 40 bucks. There was a mix up in shipping and the input shaft got sent straight to me, so going to just put it in as is. I am tired of not having my truck.

Next question, what oil to put in the transmission? Had planned on getting Mopar, but local dealer can't find the part number and said it took some that is labled for a NV3500? any help would be grea.

which input shaft did you go with? i have been thinking about upgrading before i break, would like to find a billet one but not sure if they are out there or not. i know this isn't the 3rd gen section but seen you were doing it for a nv56 so i figured i would check it out...

Thanks,

I never did find a billet one. That is what I wanted also, only found the stock ones, and had mine cryoed, another mix up, but had to get more parts, hope to have it back together tonight. We will see how long that lasts.

Fire Rescue-

To my knowledge the only upgrade was 1.25" to 1.375" and that was a non-interchangeable factory upgrade that went into the 5600 around '99. So obviously your's already has the 1.375, as well as the larger 13" clutch.

The common upgrade for the nv's is for the 4500 converted from 1.25" to 1.375".
