can't find a reputable cummins mechanic in Owensboro Ky, local dealer is giving me the in tank story and 5 thousand dollar lift pump fix??

 

auto parts store will pull codes for you

 

codes would help know the problem but I can't work on it.. ( handicapped )
need to have AAA tow to a shop. Been to several shops in town but they don't work on cummins, and don't know any shop that does except dodge
dealer..

 

Midwest fuel injection ( and many others ) sell the original lift pump for just over 100 bucks. Why anyone would let Dodge make their truck harder to work on is beyond me.

But that's the official Dodge story, they will fleece you if they can. The pump takes 30 minutes at the top to change, it is bolted to the side of the engine, no Cummins mechanic needed unless they are just plain chicken.

I believe before I blew that kind of coin, I would get the replacement LP and put it on to see if you need perhaps more, ( Injection Pump ).

Wish I was closer, I wouldn't mind working on it for you.
