no overdrive

Just installed a transmission. Now the "trans temp" light is on the "o/d off" light is on and does not shift into o/d. I tried pushing the o/d button but nothing, and there is no codes. any ideas?

My first thought would be wire shorted in valve body or somewhere in wiring to PCM.

Limp mode doesn't set the trans temp light. It is somewhere else.
Look at the VB for pinched wires, look for something shorted out or unplugged.

had the same exact problem a while back when I put in a new trans/conv
we found out the new valve body had a newer harness in it so we switched
out the harness from the old valve body and it fixed the problem

my truck is a 99 the valve body is a HTS 47RE. I believe it was a 00 or 01,
very slight differences but I think there was different voltages and that was the problem. Had the same exact symptoms as you, hooked up a scan tool and it said trans temp was 325 degrees thats why it would not shift OD

My transmission is an HTS and they are sending me different electronics.

Was the harness the only difference?

The harness was different where it plugged into the transducer solenoid, I believe everything else plugs in still. We found that the two different year
transducers had a different ohm reading and that was causing the codes
and no shift. hope this helps

here is the sensor that came on the valve body

here is the sensor that HTS sent me.

The second one is also the same one that is on the stock valve body. The harness is the same except the plug for that sensor. ran out of daylight so I will fill it back up and drive it tomorrow.

I got it back going Saturday morning everything was fine. Saturday-Wednesday no problem. I go out today to go to work start my truck and go back inside, 5-10 minutes later I come get in put it in reverse nothing. After playing with it for a little bit I decide to cut the truck off and try to start in while in gear. It does not start in R, D, 2, 1, and only starts in P and N like it should. I start it back up put it in reverse (you can feel it catch just a little) nothing. If I give it a lot of throttle (2500+rpm) it will start to move. Any idea's?

Sounds like the rear band needs adjusted or the band strut broke. The first bump you feel is the direct drive clutch pack engaging but the tranny won't move unless the rear band is applied and holds the low/rev drum. Pull the pan and check the adjustment on the rear band. There should be specs somewhere on this board, I think it's tighten to 72 in lbs and back off 3 turns. Some guys will say 2.5 turns, either is ok.
Or...I just thought of this, the snap ring that holds the massive 800 ft lb direct clutch spring might have broke. I've seen that more than a few times. Either way, it's a new trans right? It should have warranty.
Good luck.

Yea it is new. It is the whole point of having to fix a new transmission
