New VP44 and "Dummy Light"

Just installed a new VP44 and "Dummy Light" on 2001 4x4 with 100K miles. I also installed a Delphi lift pump before the VP decided to kick the bucket. I have not installed FP gauge yet, but I am hoping to get them ordered this week along with Trans Temp, and pyrometer. Already have boost but am going to update that. The light is supposed to come on at 8psi.

The problem I have is under HARD acceleration the light will blink. It doesn't come on and stay, just blinks a bit. It has a new fuel filter in it as well. Any thoughts on what I should do? Big line kit like http://store.dieseltruckresource.com...bigliki.html?? Does this work well. Any other suggestions. Someone said to take lines off between tank and LP and blow them out. Just want to get some other opinions. I do not want to be replacing another VP44 anytime soon.

Not too uncommon. And the hard pulling down to 8psi isn't going to kill the VP44. When people talk about lack of pressure killing it, usually its because the fuel system is running at near 0.

For instance, i had a gauge on when the lift pump died and at idle it was 7 psi and highway cruising was about 3 psi. WOT leads to no fuel left in this situation.

PSI is still PSI and fuel is still moving. You just dont want it to ever hit 0, cause then the pump is running without lubrication.

The good thing the light is for, is that if you ever see it on at any time other than WOT, then you need to investigate.
