New rear main seal while tranny is out?
Just wondering if it's normal practice for most CTD guys to put in a new rear main seal while they tranny is out for clutch replacement. My father-in-law drives a semi and looked at me all confused when I told him I wasn't planning replacing it. I guess it is good insurance though. Are the seals on the 5.9 known for failing? How about the input shaft seal on the 4500?

i was told if it wasnt leaking dont fix it but i had my tranny out this weekend putting in a clutch and i went ahead and replaced it cause mine was leaking ever so slightly. wasnt hard to replace either.
