Just Recently purchased a 2001 Dodge Ram 2500 ext cab 4x4 witha 24v cummins diesel and five on the floor, and two days after I bought it the lift pump went out. My truck, though four years old only has 34,000 miles on it (yes it was a steal)and Im wondering after reading tons of posts about lift pump problems...is there a good way I can help eliminate this what seems reoccuring problem on my truck...I have every tool a guy could want save for welding tools and supplies. Any other tips about better fuel mileage or fixes to do to save money in costly repairs later would be greatly appreciated. I still have a drive train warranty on it, and the dealer gave me another 4 year 48 thousand mile warranty on it as well....but I kinda prefer to know my truck is going to run when Im pullin a camper/boat through the ozarks. Thanks for any and all help....

Good to have you aboard. You can find answers to most or all your problems buy researching at this site. Good luck and have fun. BTW, get guages on that truck when you can. At least fuel pressure and pyrometer..
