Question Is MY VP44 Shot??

WEll i will start with the backround on the truck. We bought this truck used and when we got it the frist thing we did was check if the pusher pump was working. it wasent, and we were worreid for how long. we changed it and the truck seamed to run good. latly.. for about a mounth when driving the truck would just die.. for aobut 2 seconds or one and come back to life.
Then just the other day i went to start it and i cranked it over and nothing.
This is not good, so i stoped. The batteries were really low, so i stoped and put them to charge. The next day i cranked it agian and still nothing.

So i checked the codes. i get p 1683, 1596, 1693.
so i reserched the codes the best i could, and i found that i have a short in my speed controle swithch?
would this cause the truck not to start??
is there a way to..check my vp 44. i know you can buy sumthign from dodge, but i dont wana do that.. i rember seeing sumthing about jsut tuching certain wires together would make it work without the wireing harness??

any help woud be appresicated?

Is the speed control the same thing as the APSS? If it is try unplugging it and
then re-plug it back in also try tapping on it lightly, might cause it to work for awhile or die completely. Research the forums on APSS for more tips.

The apps is right above the injection pump. First try the APPS reset, do a search for APPS Reset in the 24V forum and you will find a step by step. However, I don't think a faulty APPS will stop your truck from starting.

Try disconecting the batterys for a couple hours. Reconect them. Turn the key on like your going to start. Push the fuel pedal to the floor slowly and let it up slowly. This should reset the aps sensor.

What it does is tell the computer were full fuel is and idle.
