My first post!!!

I've got a 2002 Dodge Ram 3500 Cummins 4x4 with a NV-5600 6 spd tranny in it. THe transmission locked up on me and am now looking to relplace it. I've called around to many different shops and just can't afford them. I've found a nv-5600 out of a 2004 Dodge dually. Are they the exact same transmission? flywheel? Clutch? Would I have any problems installing it in my 2002? Thanks in advance.

I don't think they will work due to the differenceing in transfer cases. I believe the newers have a difference spline count on the out put shaft. You 02 has a 241 and the 04 has a 271.
