Angry MAP Sensor wiring...

Who design this MAP sensor clip?

I end up breaking the sqeeze lock and cracking the connector. The little red slide lock is hidden on the top of the connection and impossible to reach with a finger let alone a screwdriver... The lil' red slide lock is the only thing holding the clip now... But I guess that will work... UGHHH!

I did get it off but now I'm looking for a 33mm socket to remove the sensor so I can clean it...

But I'm making this post because the simple fact that DC put that lil' red slide lock on top to keep you from removing the connector easy...

Socket UPDATE

On the 2002 MAP sensors... You can use a 1 1/8 (which is just a bit big) socket to remove the sensor for cleaning. Used a little bit of brake parts cleaner and compressed air to dry it out.

Made a world of difference to my truck it quit smoking every where. Now I get a quick little cloud black cloud when I jump on the skinny pedal with low boost. Really hard to see to the cloud... I had to tweak the passenger mirror in and down just to see it.... I mean small amount of smoke.

I thing this will improve the MPG now... I hope!

I thought it was just me. The red lock on the connector was down and to the back on the connector on mine and I thought I'd never get it off!! When I tried to replace the red lock I never could get it to clip in. It's in the glove box now!!
